Good choice,if the back tires aren't loaded,you may want to think about getting it done.The 854 loader is powerfull,I can pick up the back of my L4240 HSTC with loaded R1"s.

I don't want them loaded they will tear up the lawn pretty good I need the machine to do fence install so no loaded tires for me

I've owned two Grand L cab tractors an without loaded tires and/or weight on he back you won't get full use of its capabilities; course you may not need to pick up much weight with the FEL. I have fluid and wheel weights, but we have a lot clay in our soil.

Gonna try the weights should be easier to remove when needed as I write to you is there any regrets about owning the grand l sure took a while to land one not much out there for sale

I love the Grand L. I had an L5030HSTC I had bought used with 735 hours on it and it worked great. I put an additional 700+ hours and Series, so I traded it in on a new L5740HSTC; I'll use it till I'm gone then my kids and grandkids will still have a good tractor.

Congrats on the new L4740. That's a really nice tractor. I looked hard at them when I bought my tractor, but just couldn't stomach the price of a new one.

The 4740 is a sweet spot for Kubota in the Grand L. You have chosen wisely and will get many hours of useful enjoyment I'm sure. There are many wise people here on TBN and they are more than willing to help

The machine is pretty much new i had the dealer give it a once over I believe they were gonna buy it if I did not it was just used to mow a couple of acres man I can't sleep

If you haven't already done so, look at the threads by 4shorts and Waxman on modifications they have done on their Grand Ls, I believe 94BULLITT has one also, you may not want to do any, but they are interesting to see they also have some You Tube videos.
