My joystick does not lock in float position-it springs back. I followed the thread on FEL float, and it seems everyone knows what the problem is and how to fix it (needs cleaning and oiling). What I can't find is where exactly this "detent" is located. Anyone cares to post pictures/instructions on the fix?
My tractor is still under warranty, but dealer is 30 miles away and will charge me for delivery. I'd like to do it myself.
Thanks.

Sir please excuse me on this but if you try to fix it yourself and can't the dealer could very well void the warranty on the loader on you. The loader only has a 1 year warranty on it and it's better to have them fix it. If it goes bad again on you they may be liable to fix it again ect...
This happened to me and I let him deal with it. He charged 2 hours time and parts which came to $180 to fix it....All under warranty. Will delivery be more than that??

My 7500 is at the dealers now with this problem. Apparently there is a upgraded valve assembly from Kubota to rectify this problem, the detents on the existing spool valve are not strong enough to hold it in float. Or so my dealer is telling me.

If you feel you can fix it youself, and don't want to risk voiding the warrenty, you might want to call the service manager at your dealer, explain the problem, remind him that the tractor is under warrenty, and ask him to provide you the parts for repair. Tell him that when you come in for the parts, you'd like him to show you what you need to do. The parts are written up as warrenty and the issue is on record. Explain to him that if you can't do it, then he can expect a call to either talk you through it, or to come get the machine to do the work under warrenty. Since warrenty work is not particularly profitable for dealers, he'll probably talk you through a minor issue with no problems.

I did this one time with a minor issue and the dealer actually FED EXed the part to me.

Hello,

I just recently had this problem. I had the dealer come down and fix it at my house. It was fairly simple all he did was renmove the lower canisters on the FEl control box drain the water and remove all the moveing parts and greased them. He also check the detent balls to make sure they weren't all rusted. I would thought recommend the dealer to do this if your machine is still under warrenty. The reason the dealer came down to my house was I had just picked it up from a 50 hr service and had while there them install the bigger altenator and a quick hitch. Then when the service guy came to fix my machine he helped my install the wheel spacers on my machine so that the chains would fit properly.
