I have been checking around for a 5'-6' disc and 6' landscape rake for my Kioti ck30. Tractor Supply is definitely cheaper than the local tractor dealers by $300-$400 on the disc and $150 on the rake. The dealers were offering the Modern brand. How is the quality on the medium grade KK brand? I will use the disc to do a little leveling on some property I just bought......it has a few skidder ruts from logging years ago. I mainly plan to have a small garden occassionally. I thought of getting a tiller but am afraid some stumps will be under the surface and unseen.

I envy you having Modern brand available... it's not sold within 400 miles of where I live, and it looks like good stuff.

The King Kutter brand is what you pay for... just examine it closely and then examine something nice (Modern, Woods, Landpride) closely and you should see the difference. Look at quality of the welds, parts that are welded vs. bolted, the paint quality, where paint was applied (e.g. KK often doesn't have paint inside angles and tubes, even though they are exposed to water). KK may still be fine depending on your uses and how long you expect stuff to last.

i have had several kk implements and no problems. they work just fine. you can spend more but if your doing light duty, not every day stuff, i would say it's a good way to go.

Like the others have said, KK is ok but not the best. KK is about the only thing I can buy locally so that is what I have.I have their tiller, landscape rake, box blade and finish mower. I havent had any problems with any of them other than repainting them all. I hated the color and the paint job on them stunk.

I've got a 6' KK rotary mower and an 8' HD rear blade both work very well. The rotary mower isn't the same quality as a Bush Hog, but I haven't been able to break it yet. The rear blade is very heavy the paint job might be better but it seems very well made.

I have a KK, 5' rotary cutter, tiller, box blade, and 6' rfm. The rotary, tiller and BB have been used and abused extensivly.
I'd put these 3 up against any other brand with a similar ratings,
that said, the rfm is an other story my KK rfm is a couple of notches below a NH rfm in the engineering department.

I have the KK 6' medium duty Pro Series rear blade. I beat the **** out of it today on snow, ice, gravel. I have also used it to cut and maintain clay/rocky trails. It's done a great job so and is very durable. I think overall KK gear is pretty good just not as pretty as more expensive brands.

I have a KK 5' box blade that has held up very well. I also use a KK 5' tiller and it has also held up quite well.

Like others say, the paint job is not top quality, but on my equipment it covers all the parts. I keep my equipment under roof all the time so that might make it last longer.

You do get what you pay for and you probably need to address how you plan to use the equipment. For my budget, the KK line serves a good purpose.

I'm leaning towards KK implements from TSC because of pricing, to get better quality I would have to buy used.

Also, another reason I bought KK is because my local Farm&Fleet carry quite a few parts if I do happen to tear somthing up.

KK sells a great tiller that'll hold its own against any brand, a very good for the buck "heavy duty" (for KK) disc (not to be confused with their light duty model) , the landscape rake is basically the same or similar to most others, and some assorted "ok" stuff. Rough mowers hold up to lighter duty use. Had a finish mower, wouldn't rush right out and buy another. Rear blades are ok for pushing sawdust, snow and loose dirt. Don't try to do much serious digging with one. I ended up taking a cutting torch to one I wadded up while scraping snow 3 years ago. (with a 40 hp tractor) Box blades are "average" for economy level. Prices on KK equipment seem to be catching up with everything in it's same quality range. Not the bargain it once was. Most KK equipment uses "generic" components available most anywhere. (i.e. pto shafts, slip clutches, disc bearings and wear parts, box blade ripper teeth, ect) That's a plus.

There's better quality equipment available, but there's worse. Average quality at an average price but easy to find retailers.

King Kutter does offer Medium duty (pro series) and heavy duty rear blades.
I think you would have a difficult time bending their heavy duty blade with a 40 HP tractor.
The King Kutter light duty blades are just that.. Light duty. I had the a light duty rear blade and did not like it. I now have a KK Pro series-medium duty rear blade. I like it. It is a much better blade than the light duty.
