Well said "ouch"
Your bill here would have been $0 for the first 50 hour service.
And any full service after that would be $362.29 give or take a little (cost of fluids)

Received a call from Kioti today to promote good faith they are sending me a ck. for $75. & will be in contact with the dealer . The money is not that big of a deal we all know that, its what happens after the sale when you need support either from a dealer or manufacture . Would this have ended this way without TBN ? Anyway thanks all ,need to send a ck. to red cross, i bet you can guess for how much. regards jim

Yes, I think it might have ended the same way had you made another attempt to find the right person to contact. Kioti has had a reputation for taking care of problems, some even after the warranty had run out, without charging.
Some of the comments in this thread lead some to believe that Kioti does not honor their warranty. This couldn't be further from the truth as has been attested to many times in this forum. I can remember several posts where someone had something fixed for free after the warranty had gone out. Kioti certainly didn't have to go that far.
Thank you for keeping us abreast of the situation, and I know you'll continue to really enjoy your Kioti as much as I have enjoyed mine!

C'mon now John, be fair now, I never once expressed anything except 100 percent confidence that Kioti would do the right thing and, that Kioti corporate in fact does care how their customers are treated. Was I right on this one?? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif What do you think? I personally never expressed any doubt at all about Kioti taking care of their customers, and I had absolutely no sarcasm at all either. Only a pure conviction that Kioti would do the right thing. I didn't knock you off of your chair now, did I? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Glad to hear that Kioti is taking care of the problem and letting us all know the outcome. You just needed the right person at Kioti to deal with and to solve your problem. I truely believe they stand behind their product and I've had no problems with minor warranty issues. Also, nice to hear that Kioti is going to contact this dealer. It was this particular dealer who started this situation when he shouldn't have. There are many good dealers out there and I hope you find one close to work with.

Kudos to Kioto for taking care of this ridiculous issue. I’m happy to see a positive resolution and I do hope the dealer in question does a better job of representing Kioti and their corporate image in the future. If not, perhaps the dealership should seek another product line to carry.

I hear there isn’t much fuss in the manure market.

I also want to extend a hearty thanks to the dealers on this forum for their very loud and adamant explanation that a reputable dealership, regardless of the color tractors they sell, does not conduct business in such a deplorable manner. I only wish your shops were located in my neighborhood.

Could someone tell me what Kioti's policy is on warrenty work with respect to dealers who have not solid you the tractor in need of work? Is it elective on the part of a Kioti dealer to do work on a tractor he did not sell? Is he allowed any special leway in this department? I have talked to a local dealer who carries other types of equipment, and he has emphatically stated that if you bought from another dealer and bring it to him, he will tell them to go back to the other dealer. He said if pushed he would tell them to F off. Now mind you this is on another type of machine from another industry and manufacturer. What can a Kioti dealer do with warrenty work on a tractor he did not sell? Can he make it take 6 weeks to fix something that takes 2 days? Can anyone shed some light on kioti policy?

Thanks a bunch

Any dealer that uses that language when talking about anything is someone to stay away from. There are plenty of good ones on here and they will respond in a courteous way, Im sure.

Kioti's policy is that all dealers must perform warranty work anywhere in the country. That said, unless someone complains loudly and gets Kioti to reprimand a bad dealer who pulls this stunt, yes, they could make it last.
It would be a stupid dealer, in my opinion, that would do this, as he/she would be alienating a possible customer for other sales.
But as far as the warranty goes, he/she should do the warranty work, and will be paid the same as though he/she had sold the unit in the first place.
Oh well, we all know there ARE some stupid dealers out there, but I think they're getting weeded out by their own stupidity.

We do the warranty work on the tractors we sell and for those who that have lost their dealer in our area. And yes we will do another dealer's warranty work, but we will take care of our customers first.

This is something that should be considered when purchasing your tractor, YOUR dealer should be equally as important as the price.

We only sell tractors within an area that we can comfortably take of.

I realize this is about $75, but the principals involved are bigger than that. Kioti offers a full parts and labor warranty. Not only should they honor it from a moral and ethical standpoint, but they are required to by the law. I would suggest your dealer and Kioti read the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

I beleive the root of the problem lies with your dealer, however, Kioti does indeed deserve blame. Ultimately, Kioti is legally responsible for honoring the warranty they gave you in writing. They also have a reputation to protect. I am willing to bet that part of Kioti's dealer agreement is a requirement to provide warranty repairs to ALL kioti owners and to accept the payment Kioti offers as full payment. Regardless, One of two things is happening.... 1. No one has taken Kioti to task with the FTC or in court or 2. Kioti is banking on the idea that for $75 no one is going to go through the hassle. The thing Kioti is not recognizing is that a case like this is a slam dunk for a consumer attorney and the $75 is nothing compaired to the attorney fees and statuatory penalties they would face.

Can you tell that it ticks me off when a company doesn't honor their obligations? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

But Kioti did pay the customer the $75.00 (which he stated he would be giving to the Red Cross) and Kioti will be taking it up with the dealer.
