Where am I going to find the best deal on replacement glass?

Dealer wants $505 + $55 for the rubber seal.

Seal is reuseable (if you didn't rip it.). Glass isn't. I suspect it will be a dealer item.

Is it curved glass or flat, if flat a glass company can cut one.

A few phone calls later ...

Local dealer/parts told me that $130 of that $505 was freight. He is going to wrap my order up in a larger shipment and see if he can drop the freight charge.

The old seal is in good shape but it's such a B___h to clean out all the old glass shards. If I get lucky on the freight charge, I'll just get a new one.

15 minutes with the right size screwdriver will save the gasket.

even $375 for the glass is crazy!.. and if you remove the old gasket, you can usually remove the broken pieces much easier by bending the gasket!.

Sometimes, you just have to ask yourself ....

Do I want to spend 15 minutes with a screwdriver, creating a mess to clean up .....
OR
Do I want to spend $50 and just forget about it?

Spend 1hr with screwdriver, get hands cut. Dont get it perfect, so I pay $50 and get a new one. That way I waste time and money.

Have you ever priced out auto glass. That windshield is auto glass rated and curved.....very spendy.

Treat yourself and buy the new gasket/seal. Do it right. I would wait and let your dealer come in with a shipping free solution. Then you have a good deal.

There was another thread here not too long ago where the poster had the glass special ordered from a third party company for a fraction of what the OEM was. See if this helps:
