Kioti Lk2554
So my sight glass on the tractor is half way up the window. Taking the cap off I noticed a lot of bubble/air. Does the fluid need to be at the top of the sight glass? Also can anyone tell me what the regular later does? I purchased this tractor and noticed I don’t have one. Sorry for the double question. Thanks so much

Hello and welcome to TBN. Congratulations on getting your LK2554. It is a well made little tractor than will serve you well.

The level of the hydraulic fluid being 1/2 way on the site glass is perfect. You might notice it is closer to the top after it runs for a while and that is okay as well. The bubbles in the tank are probably from the fluid circulating and not an issue. If you are getting air in the system you should hear it and will notice jerky steering and or you would notice it when using the loader. If all that is smooth then you should be fine. If it is getting air in the system then the likely source is the rubber suction hose located just before the pump. It is a short hose bigger in diameter than the rest of the hydraulic hoses and has hose clamps on each end.

The regulator is voltage regulator for your charging system. It mounts on the firewall next to the fuse box. Some people have changed it to a solid state style that will look different but does the same thing. Also they could have changed to alternator to one with a built in regulator. You can check it with a voltmeter at the battery. Check the voltage before starting to see resting voltage of the battery. Then check it with the tractor running and you should notice a higher voltage. If it is around 14 volts your regulator is working.

Hope this helps. Have a great day.

You seem like the guy that I need to talk to on the lk2554. I hooked a pressure gauge to by hydraulics Im seeing around 1220psi at idle and 1300psi higher rpm’s. My question is why is my bucket so slow at idle? Like it takes around 20 seconds for the bucket to pick up off the ground. Higher rpm’s it lift decent but lower rpm’s it’s extremely slow and I notice it’s jerky.

I will do my best to help. The pump on the lk2554 is only about 7gpm. This is why it may seem slow especially at low RPM. Add in the wear on the pump it can be quite a bit less.

Kioti has an upgraded pump to 10gpm for the lk3054 that will fit the 2554. I did this upgrade with great results. The jerky could be air and would be from the hose I mentioned earlier in this thread.

I will find the thread I did on the upgraded pump and edit this post with a link.
