I'm certainly not going to mention that word as I have just had a complete hardware failure as well and lost everything becuase I NEVER backed up any of it. At least you tried to.
I lost a whole website that I had to download from the site back to the new computer, and hundreds of all types of tractor pictures and vacation pics as well. I was "going to get around to doing it" sometime, but never did.
I've already begun to change that stupid practice!!

Bummer. If you had any valuable and irreplaceable data on your hard drive there are services ($$) that can retrieve almost anything from a failed drive.

Nothing that I cannot replace with a hundred or so hours of two finger typing and another twenty or thirty of scanning. Since I have reconstituted the computer itself to pre-crash status, all I truly lost was mostly family genealogy stuff and a few hundred scanned photographs I was assembling into albums. I have all the hard copies I just need to do it AGAIN! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
