KH170L Excavator?

Not sure if this belongs here or the construction equipment forum...

Anybody know anything about these machines? Any known issues? Or things to look for when checking one out?

I'm eyeing an early-90s KH170L with 6600 hours. Guy claims everything works/operates as it should. Its obviously not a new machine so Im expecting some leaks, creaks, bumps and bruises etc...but I just want a good solid machine that I can use around my property. Mostly it'll be used to move large rocks and logs/pull stumps etc.

Im having trouble finding much info about it on the web...so hoping someone here has some experience.

Thats an oldie but a goodie, If it was cared for it will probably go another 5000 hours....thats a big IF though...The first thing i would do is contact a Kubota dealer and find out if any parts are still available. If a final drive, hydraulic pump, or the engine goes south it will be big dollars to repair, make sure you go over the machine carefully or hire an independent heavy equipment mechanic to come out and give it a good once over, a couple hundred now could save you thousands later....
