Red bottle 911 reliquifies gelled fuel, removes water, de-ices frozen fuel filters, also lubes pumps and injectors but does not provide Cetane power boost. I do not know if it contains alcohol since it does not say on the bottle.
My last 96 oz bottle of 911 cost 13.99. I don't remember how much the 32 oz white bottle was since I bought it by the case with some other items. The white bottle is the one to use. It goes a long way since one 32 oz bottle treats up to 100 gal. and the red bottle mainly used to reliquify gelled fuel takes 96 oz. per 100 gal.
Picked up 2 white bottles yesterday at Wal-Mart. 32oz bottle for 6.54 each. They were sold out of the larger bottles. My next deleivery of heating oil will be in Jan. I will add both these bottles then. The man who services my furnace claims this stuff wont work. I told him about others using it with success.......he just said from his own experience, he had service calls from homeowners who used it. Maybe they did not use the right amount.
Thanks again for all the input. I am by far a expert of heating/diesel fuel....but have a simple question. Why does diesel at the pump cost more that diesel ( heating fuel) that i have delivered if it's the same thing?
