I was using kerosene to heat my home but decided to go with fuel oil to save a few bucks.
I am from southern pa.

Does it make any difference if your fed line on the tank is at the top or bottom when worrying about gelling. Does PS also take any mositure out of the tank?

Doesn't your tank use gravity to get the oil to the furnace? If so, how could the feed line be at the top?

Both of my furnaces have their own pump. I have two 250 gallon tanks in the celler with fuel oil for the house and I just use two 5 gallon cans of kerosene for the one in the garage.

No, the furnace has a pump that pull the fuel.

Thanks for all the replies. I called my oil company and again they are telling me not to worry..........but it sure sounds like I need to either use a kerosene mix or an additive...or maybe either both.

George2615, Where would I find Power Service ( White bottle) at?

Temps are to drop into the teens this week....so it should be a good test as to what might happen.
*If #2 fuel oil is the same as diesel. How do they keep that from gelling?

If it's not gelling in peoples cars and trucks it won't gell in home furnace tanks.
Why ?
Because it's the same stuff in both tanks
