White bottle of PS Boosts Cetane (up to 4 numbers), boosts power, disperses water, prevents gelling, keeps injectors clean, lubricates fuel pump and injectors and does not contain alcohol.

Red bottle 911 reliquifies gelled fuel, removes water, de-ices frozen fuel filters, also lubes pumps and injectors but does not provide Cetane power boost. I do not know if it contains alcohol since it does not say on the bottle.

My last 96 oz bottle of 911 cost 13.99. I don't remember how much the 32 oz white bottle was since I bought it by the case with some other items. The white bottle is the one to use. It goes a long way since one 32 oz bottle treats up to 100 gal. and the red bottle mainly used to reliquify gelled fuel takes 96 oz. per 100 gal.

Picked up 2 white bottles yesterday at Wal-Mart. 32oz bottle for 6.54 each. They were sold out of the larger bottles. My next deleivery of heating oil will be in Jan. I will add both these bottles then. The man who services my furnace claims this stuff wont work. I told him about others using it with success.......he just said from his own experience, he had service calls from homeowners who used it. Maybe they did not use the right amount.

Thanks again for all the input. I am by far a expert of heating/diesel fuel....but have a simple question. Why does diesel at the pump cost more that diesel ( heating fuel) that i have delivered if it's the same thing?

Simply because Home heating oil alias diesel fuel alias fuel oil is taxed according to where it is used.
Used on the high ways and by ways or any road it's taxed.
For use anywhere else there is no tax.
There really is no such thing as on road and off road stuff.
That's merrily a tax determination.:)

Now that I have answered your question for you I have some for you.
Where do you get fuel for you tractor?
What were you heating with before considering Home heating fuel

What kind of tractor do you have?
Where are you located?
Why not fill out you profile as it helps others better answer your questions

It's still the same as it was before you dyed it.

we'd just be rehashing an old argument if I said that Diesel Fuel and Home heating fuel are not necessarily the same thing, in some cases they are the same but in many cases they are similar, because some of allowable specs on heating oil ( like cetane rating or wax, ash, etc)are different than diesel.

if you wanna say they are pretty much the same, and sometimes are the same, you'd be more right than sayng they are the same thing 100% of the time, because they aren't always.

last but not least, if you get caught using red dye in an on road vehicle , don't tell a judge they are the same because that dog don't hunt in court.....

2*They are here
4*Around here there are the same hunting or not hunting don't change the formula of the fuel.

Brown, I aint AROUND HERE.

your claim is a generality.
I agree with it up to a point but its not a 100% truth.

Its not the same here either. I ask my fuel delivery guy that question once. He said in some markets they use the same stuff because it more cost effective. They only need on storage facility ect. If they sell a lot then it may be cost effective for them to get set up to run both. Interesting enough a good friend down the road is a farmer and has a 5000 gallon above ground tank for diesel. He also heats with it because he gets a price break for buying so much. The fuel oil would cost more for the small amount, maybe 800 gallons a year, he uses for his home and shop.
