You want some stihl. Plenty of stihl come in.I saw that title on this thread and immediately thought "this must have Stihl equipment in it" but surprisingly I don't see much Stihl garbage in here.
I do recall Hydro having a 242 also, and 15,000+rpm Crazy. The Shop's Owner's Son PDI'd that one But I do remember him grabbing my Tach and asking if it went to 15Grand.I recall the 242 being around 15.5k. Then the OE 346 45cc 14.7k.
This new echo 501 I picked up says 13k-14k max in info. But I turned her down to a safe 12.8k if I recall right. I like saws to be hair fat enough to clear up in the cut. Not so fat they dont preform though.
With a cup of coffee these days that cost $7, $14 for a chainsaw part is cheap....If you ever need a decomp plug for a newer echo. They will scare ya pricing one. 14 buck and if not buying from dealer add shipping too.
So for 2 bucks I made one. Just rednecking with hacksaw and grinder.
Guys with a lathe could do them really nice.
Use copper washer for crush ring. I didnt have one local so used brass for testing.
No you can not use husky, stihl, dolmar makita etc decomp plugs. One shown beside the one I made.
I'll post oem ones for echo too.
