They all load slow for me. That's pretty looking piston.
Guy had them made up for a dolmar 166. I figured back when I had a few 166's I better buy a couple of them since I was racing a 166 on pipe at the time.

Differences in a race middle, woods ported top and stock bottom, exhaust ports.

Because of the exhaust leak I been having blowing on the oil tank and crankcase gasket. Doing this since no tank heat foil on case. No gasket was used even on oem.

Limited 880 coil. Unlimited OEM 361 coil.

Later 880 G888 unlimited now.

Guys that port and muffler mod etc and makes for easier tuning without having to tune in wood with limited coils.

Doing some 3400 3.7 carbs. Got a laugh on the red 3.7 one. How you know when it still has original carb kit in it. 😋

Someone has ask about fulcrum height

Just because diaphragms look good don’t mean squat. I had pulled this carb awhile back to clean the fines out from past owner putting fuel filter on wrong line.
Dias felt and looked great. Would run and idle all day. Till you put in wood. It would run out of mix in the cut. New kit in and it don’t do that anymore.

Was running these 2 yesterday. Prefer the 462 over the 500 after the testing.

Because of the torque?
Just felt better IMO in the cuts. The whole saw balance etc IMO is just a better thought out saw.

The 2 guys there with the 500 and a 7900 said the 500 is a gas hog too. Uses 2 tanks to the 7900 1 tank when they cut together.

Power is not free...

I think the 500i is a fantastic saw. I feel it's stronger than the 462.

I guess it depends on the wood you're cutting...

Power ?, the 7900 cuts the same and same cc. But uses 1 tank to 2 tanks for the 500. So there is no power gained IMHO if cutting the same. The guys cut together.

I felt the 462 was the better all around saw for folks uses around here. Aka firewood cutters.

What would this 034 AV Super be worth to sell today, starts and runs.

Very hard to pull, compression is ridiculous and half the time ripped the rope out of my hand while pulling. But if you are man enough, it starts and cuts wood.

Got one just like it in my saw force. Lightest most powerful unit I've used. ( power to weight ) Sells around here for $300.00

Is it really a beast to pull start? I'm wondering if something may be wrong with this saw.

See that all the time here. Friend had a 268xp with a 272 on it. My dad with his poulan 3300, Guy in my group with his 3500.

Friends 034 super same way.
Why he has this handle on it now. Been that way since bought new.

Also switch from the oem single pawl to the later double pawl set up. Keeps from tearing up the single one as fast.

Good compression is a good thing. (y)

I love that nobody knows about certain good saws out there. 😆 Had to put in another piston today after a tear down to see what was up with the stuck ring.
These saws were way ahead of their time IMO. 1984 Partner 5000 plus and I had a 1979 5000 open port that was strong or stronger. This makes about 15 or more of these I have had now. Keeping a few back, well maybe.

I really like the guys that pass on the Poulan Pro 325 which is a Partner 5500. :licking:😆

Just a few.

I was surprised when I noticed that this thread has been running 10 years, it seems like only a year or so have passed since it started. 👍

Those old Partner 5000 series were great saws.

The 2 54cc chrome bore 3.3 aka like predator 335 saws I am getting ready for shipment. Both 1996 and one has the updated style tank vent. Other had the older style at top of tank inside.

SOLD both

Built like a 034 but close to a 026 weight.

Had like 8-9 of them I bought to have parts for my 1 user.
