What I am saying is that when they clone these saws, they are stealing the designs and then producing them. Would YOU want to spend YOUR hard earned money and time designing something that you hoped to profit from, and then have your neighbor steal all that work from you and start profiting from it?

But you are right, it is my choice not to buy it or support it. And I won't.
I agree, buying something that was simply made in China is one thing. Buying a knock-off copied by China and made in China is completely different. The first is bad, but understandable. The second is horrible for people here to buy.

Yes, it's terrible. These companies spend millions on design, engineering, testing, patents, and production to produce a nice product. Then out of control China swoops in and illegally steals that design and starts producing and selling these products for a fraction of the cost because they invested NOTHING into it. And it's not just happening to chainsaws but across the entire board from saws, to TV's, to imitation purses, etc... And the people who buys this crap, SUPPORTS it.....

Glad to see you finally calling the Timberwolf buy it's proper name. :ROFLMAO: This is a very easy saw to modify and it really opens it up. You should adjust the squish on it a little, it really helps it out even more...
Bear, Wolf, all the same (and I should know as it's stenciled on the bar as well). Not wanting to open the jug up unless it develops an issue, then I will. Runs peachy with just the Red Beard oiled foam air cleaner, the modded muff and the offset timing key and pulling the limiter caps and snipping off the limiter tangs and then reinstalling them. I did post an error on the CS saw. I bought a replacement muff from Saw it Again. The replacement muff is actually an Echo factory muff with the guts and cat ring absent and the final diffuser / deflector is on a bit different so the exhaust isn't directed towards the outer plastic cover. On the CS saws, the number one complaint (on Echo's website) is the muff deflector melts the plastic outer case.

Guess that pretty much eliminates DeWalt and Milwaukee Li-Ion battery powered hand tools then as they are made in Chinese or Taiwanese factories. Might as well by HF Bauer or Hercules battery powered tools for a lot less cost the, They are made in those very same factories but sold at a much less cost.
You don't seem to be getting my point. Jeephead explains it better than I did, so maybe read his posts. Let's say you spend 10 years designing and perfecting a "5030 Hand Tool" which is better than any hand tool out there by far. You have it made in China to keep costs down and sell each "5030 hand Tool" at $100 each. Other Chinese companies hear of your fantastic "5030 Hand Tool" and visit the Chinese you have building it. They take one of your "5030 Hand Tools", reverse engineer it and sell a "5031 Hand Tool" for $50 at HF since they have zero invested perfecting the tool. Your same color, your same look, your same design. You suddenly are out of business, 10 years' worth of time invested down the drain since you never broke even. I don't like buying stuff made in China, but sometimes I have to since there often is no choice. I NEVER buy knock offs, however. I'd rather pay $100 for the original "5030 Hand Tool" so you can stay in business and recoup your investment.

We been buying cloned stuff for as long as I can remember back.

Go to the car part store. Your buying cloned China made parts with whatever name on it.

Go buy a motor for that mower or splitter or kart your usually getting a Honda cloned motor.

Name brand tools cloned, Chain grinders, etc etc etc.

Atv's and dirt bikes cloned.

You folks act like this just happened with chainsaws. Been going on as long as I can remember.

You are way late to the cloning game to be complaining now.

Oh good morning. ✌️ 😁

I don't buy any of those off-brand alternatives, I buy the real deal. My ATV is a Honda, my saws are Husqvarna, Stihl, Echo, Dolmar. My engines on my power washers are a Honda, my cordless tools are Dewalt. I am not buying anything that is from stolen designs! I refuse to support this behavior or these products. And nobody is acting like anything just happened. We are highlighting that it IS happening and that it IS WRONG.

This isn't about buying a Chinese product, it's about buying products originating from stolen designs. There is a difference.

To each their own. You can't force people to do the right thing. It's either in you, or it isn't.

For the most part, yes, I buy OEM parts or high-end aftermarket parts. I am not foolish enough to say that I never mistakenly buy a cloned part....

High end aftermarket = cloned China parts. Just saying.

I'm not paying $600 for my alternator for car, truck etc at OEM. When I can go buy it for $100.

That is my point we all do it and you cant just pick what ground your going to stand firm on.
