I sold it to a guy on my chainsaw repair group FB for $240 already yesterday. Not out to gouge folks like some do. Just wanted to cover my time and gas getting it.

Only took 5mins too. Was just asking about the differences in 2000 2100 etc.

Well that sucks.

I had not seen anything on the MS400. Must be a replacement of the MS362. More power, yet lighter. My guess is there will then be a MS300. Then the MS261, 362, 462 will be gone. Replaced by the MS300, 400, 500
Info on 400 goes back to 2018. Yes replaces the 362 but right behind the 462. Has a mag piston.

Thread where I save info on 400 Re: Stihl 400 MS400 C

I guess I have been living under a rock. Impressive that you are well entrenched in the chain saw repair site (y)

Forums are dead IMHO.
Thats my old website and just use as file cabinet. For the best info off my chainsaw repair group. Thats the direction everything went.

After selling the partner 5000 plus topend. I had decided to use the parts from it to finish up the partner 500 49cc.
She lives and cuts good.
Someday a better clutch cover will turn up or someone else can do it.
Still even has the shrunk fuel line that allows seep by tank hole. Just wanted it running good first.

I thought i had bought a junk saw - a Husqvarna. Brand new and it kept binding up the bar nose sprocket. Chips kept getting stuck in there after each 5-10 minutes of sawing.

With my old craftsman, i used used motor oil for the chain. With the Husqvarna i thought i'd do it right and use bar and chain oil. But i wondered if this had something to do with the binding up of the sprocket.

Took some bar oil out and put in half used motor oil. BINGO! No more binding. How the heck can that be?! It is almost as if the bar oil is too thick and sticky and was not making it into that nose sprocket by itself allowing it to heat up and bind and/or not washing out the chips.

Here i thought i was doing it right with the new saw but the supposed proper oil was not working! Anyone had similar experiences?

You folks that run the HD2 filters. I dont like how they compact the crap down in them myself.

What I do.

IMO HD2 should come with them just like the HD did. I run them on both.

 Just got to ask. You keeping your chains sharp? Chips not dust or maybe your milling?

Thats sad IMHO. Not seeing that here.

You know the 500 filter is not even on the outwears list for fitting that filter. ? Maybe not even fitting it right? Chainsaw Pre-Filters, Stihl

Looks like you need the max-flo.
