:confused:I just went out to do a little loader work with my B2320. FLAT TIRE:mad:
Had a small nail this time but the other front tire had lost 5 pounds in three days.
What is the most disturbing is that the max poundage for these "Bicycle Quality Tires" is 22#. Written in the sidewall--it warns not to inflate above Max poundage for fear of explosion:confused::confused:
Now I have to worry about how much pressure is inside the tire with a max load of wet dirt:mad::confused:
I will definately change the tires to a higher quality:thumbsup:
I don't want Carlisle tires even if they are free:mad:

Ya I am with you. I am sick of spending good money and getting junk. I had a set of Titan tires and less then a year they were cracked. Instead of getting new tires I got lip service. Mad.

Seems like many have had problems with the Carlisle and the Titans. I wonder if the Titan are made by Carlisle ?

I have a B2150 and need new tires. I have Bridgestone on the Front and Firestone in the rear and have been happy wiht them. Never had a flat or even a leak.

But they Bridgestones are extremely hard to find. I learned they do stil make them, but are pretty much in Europe. The Firestones are still being made, but most local Kubota dealers don't seem to want to sell them to me.

They have been offering Carlisle or Goodyear Turfs for the Front and Carlisle or Titan Turfs fro the back.

I had planned to go ahead and get the Goodyear front and Titan for the rear, but after reading gthese posts, I am getting scared.

I found a tire dealer about 50 miles awya who has BOTH the oem Bridgestone and Firestones but I have to take the Old tires and rims to him to mount. For me, that is no easy task.

I replaced my junk Carlisles a few years ago, had them put in tubes when I did that. No more slow leaks. Can't remember what brand they are, went to an industrial truck place down the street.

Thanks for this topic, its discussion, and info in this thread - although it's too bad that it comes at the expense of Giles and others. This kind of stuff fries me.

Over the years, I've had constant nagging problems with tires going down on everything from little suburban mower tractors and rototillers to log splitters and wheelbarrows. In every case I can think of when it was a rim leak, (and not a bad valve stem or a puncture), they were Carlisles w/turf tread or simple line tread. Some were broken down and remounted w/a bead sealer, after which they often (but not always) held their air, at least for a while. Ended up tubing many of them, which holds good - until you puncture one, then its a whole breakdown - but I was doing a lot of that anyway. It's a pain to have to deal with the air issue every blessed time you go to do some work.

Thanks for this reminder about the Carlisle brand. Planning my 'bota purchase, and I will definitely be sure to negotiate away from, or steer around them. Moot point for me, I guess, as I'm going with R1 ags, so we'll see what the dealer offers.

If I understood correctly, it doesn't sound like there's much choice as to R1 makers - but they're NOT Carlisle.

Replaced my Carlisle "Turf Chief's" with the Multi-trac C/S in 6 ply on my B2400. Haven't had a flat tire in 6 years and they don't "squat" as bad when using FEL.

IMHO all carlisle tires are crap,,, I had a enclosed two axle car hauler shod with carlisle tires. I experienced all 4 tires blowing out one at a time before I completed a 300 mile trip. The carlisle's on my B2400 are not any better either, all they are good for is mowing the yard, I have a different set for winter traction and hauling wood out of the timber.

Well I believe you in spades...

I have a B2920 with Carlisle brand turf tires and the left front is always leaking down. I also belong to the forum rv.net and I can tell you there that Carlisle tires have the reputation as being the worst tires that you can have on a RV, and there are many threads there that back it up.

Larry

A agree the Carlisle tires for R.V. do quit quickly bought a new /used camper 5th whl. at 300 miles the 1st blew took part of fender with it. put on spare. at 1 thousand of same trip another tire blew. Found out Carslile only will warrenty to first owner so dealer has warrenty not you.
Went to tires for less and purchase 5 tires. and had the installer cut large plug out of removed tires so would never be used again.
Expensive yes but never had a problem again with camper in 2010 sold to another man and purchased a camper new and would not look at a trailer with Carlisle tires.

Here is another thought , maintance guys always having flats on front of there tractors , my boss had them foam filled by local tire dealer , ONLY thing is when the tires are worn out you have to cut them off the rims . I'm thinking of the same thing for my front R4's ..
