Junk Kubota Tires

I had the same problem with a set of Carlisle tubeless golf cart tires. I put some Slime in them and that resolved the issue.

BINGO!!! I tried the carlisle tubes on both fronts...BOTH LEAKED after buying 3 different tire spoons to remove. ....put slime in and never a problem...

There is a bright side to all these tire problems---I will remember the next time I purchase and negotiate non-Carlisle tires, or simply skip machines that have them. If Carlisle were to replace my tires--would they be any better:confused:No excuse for bicycle tires on a Lawn Tractor:(
I just wish I had known this before paying a premium price for this Kubota:mad:

It's just the way it is.
Before the tractor purchase is complete, I ask how much to buy a set of better quality Firestones and how much will you give me for these brand new tires? Usually, the tire guy comes out and gets a price while the sales guy waits. The difference in price is likely what it would cost anyway and the best price you'll get on new tires of correct quality tires is at the time the sale is being made. I have done this several times.
The difference has not been that much and the dealer is happy to get a low-buck set of new tires to sell to some other non-suspecting nube that is not a TBN reader. Everyone wins.
Even with used tires on tractors, shops will buy them back as you trade up. Have done this a few times as well.
Whatever the cost, the feeling I get on better tires is worth it to me.

Purchased new BX 25 10 months ago. Negotiated with dealer to install Ag tires. I had to sign a tire waiver because the BX 25 does not have an Ag tire option. I'm glad I did. Yesterday was the first time I have ever added air to my tires. One front tire has never had any air added. I added about 2-3 lbs to the other front tire. I keep 25 lbs, 3 more than tire manufacturer recommended, in front tires. Added 9 lbs and 4 lbs to rear tires.

There might be something I discovered by accident since I often don't add air for years on tubeless. Once I had a rear tire that kept losing air over the summer. I had it unmounted and remounted with no success. Then an old guy at the dealership said to overinflate it to start (30 psi vs 20 psi) and lower after a week or so. I did it and no more leak.

Ditto on Carlisle problems: Carlisle front turf tire on my B2710 was a slow leaker from about the first year on. Finally replaced it with some other brand and put a tube in at the same time. No more problems.

My L3700SU came with Titan tires. I got it last June and have R4s on it. Is the tire supplier regional, only turf supplied by Carlisle, or did Kubota get tired of complaints on the Carlisles?

I have a set of 15" Carlisle tires on a 4X8 trailer that are 10 years old that are not dry rotted. I hear that was when Carlisle made a good tire.

My 05 L2800 has Titan on it, their R4s. No slime & no issues so far.

I think Kubota narrows their options on tire sizes because of their gear ratios between front and back. I know my 4240 has an odd sized front tire, 8.3x16 to work with the more standard rear tires. But the larger GLs have larger tires so to work with the same front rear ratio they were limited. So far I have only found one company that makes the 8.3x16 ag tires. That jus ag tires then you have to add into the mix bot R4 tires and turfs. The Carlisle tires may be the only option.

I think the majority of problems with Carlisle tires are on the B's and BX's. The ones on my L3400 never gave me any problems leaking, but the sidewalls didn't stand up to FEL use well at all. It turned out that the pressure had been set for standard use, and not bumped up for FEL usage as recommended. Probably my fault, although I still don't know if there was a defect in the tires or not. In a couple more years I'll be able to tell for sure.

Carlisle was excellent to deal with, the new tires were shipped within 24 hours and I had them 2 days later. Kubota does NOT warranty tires, they refer that to the tire mfr, Carlisle in this case. The warranty is better anyway, 100% for the first year, then pro-rated for the next 4 years.

I installed tubes in the new ones, they weren't expensive.
