I was looking at cool attachments for the Kubota B3030 that I hope to get soon, and saw that some of you had a 48" Millonzi grapple. I tried clicking some of the links to their site, but it had been taken down.

I tried to Google the name Millonzi, and I found John Millonzi's obituary - he just past away within the past week or so:

John Orazio Millonzi - The News-Herald Obituaries : Breaking news coverage for Northern Ohio

It looked like they made a great product, and it seems like some of you have worked with John in the past. I just thought I'd pass the info along.

That is sad news. John Millonzi did a lot to help popularize light duty grapples designed for CUTs rather than Skid Steers. He was a delightful person to deal with and was always attentive to and appreciative of customer feedback.

I read where his compamy recently lost a large lawsuit regarding a commercial lease. I have also been trying to find their website and have gotten nothing but advisories that say the site is no longer available. Did the company go under?

I emailed Melissa the following and got a quick response...just don't know what she's talking about:

Hi,
I have a 2000 Massey Furguson 1260 tractor with a 1247 loader; I am
considering purchasing the 48" Light Duty Grapple Rake. Will this grapple work
on my tractor? If so, what is my total cost including shipping to Canon City,
Co 81212
Thanks!

Good Morning,
If you have the skid steer universal hook it will work, if not we can
send you one with a blank back and you can be responsible for the
attachment.
the cost $900.00 Freight is $105.11 after the discounted 20.00.
Please let me know if I can help further. Melissa

Did you guys have to get a "skid steer universal hook" to make it fit on your rigs?

Markham only makes the grapples and buckets three way's, plain back(no attachments at all-buyer must weld on something), the JDQA, (John Deere Quick-Attach), and the SSL QA (skid steer loader quick attach, also called "bobtach")

I am going to assume your bucket is pinned onto your loader arms and you have no means of quickly detaching it? If so, then you would need to convert your loader to the SSLQA setup for a price of 300$ to $700 or so.

Your other option is to but the plain version and weld bushings on it yourself so you could pin it to your loader.

How much do you want to spend?

Grapple=1000
QA setup=1000
Hydraulics=500

Can you weld and fabricate steel?

IMHO, this is getting more than slightly off topic. There are about a hundred threads on grapple prices where this would be appropriate but this one is focused on an obituary. True, the reason the obit is in the attachment section is that John Millonzi was known to us for his grapples but there are better threads to discuss the details of Markham pricing. Sorry to be grumpy about this. :(
