John Deere L119

I just bought a john deere l 119 for $100. The previous owner said it has a bad transmission but it only has 300 hours on it. He said it heats up and starts to bog down after running a while. I drove about 75 yards no problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction to diagnose my problem or to the right place to buy transmission parts for my john deere cheap. Thank you, Brian
