- John Deere 3038e
In retrospect I should have named this tread 2015 John Deere 3038e restoration....
Still waiting on parts from Illinois but that isn't stopping me from getting things ready for when they do arrive. So today I took the time to de-burr the PTO gear and got it running smooth again. I then cleaned up the cover and put a coat of black on it and reinstalled it onto the back of the tractor. I took the rock-shaft cover off and inspected it for damage. Surprisingly I didn't see any... But with the cover off you can see how vulnerable the rear diff is if anything breaks... I also decided to start cleaning up the rear fenders. They are covered in hard water deposits. In order to remove them I used #000 steel wool and then some plastic polish. Its been a good day. I just wished my parts arrived today like they said they would. Included are pictures from what I did today.View attachment 572408View attachment 572417View attachment 572416View attachment 572415View attachment 572414View attachment 572413View attachment 572412View attachment 572411View attachment 572409View attachment 572418
