John Bud\'s L3410

I found and scanned some photo's my wife took in September when the Kubota was first delivered. This is the tractor with it's first muddy feet.

Re: John Bud\'s L3410

Here are two pictures showing how it's feet got dirty.

Funny side note: At work a buddy of mine saw the pictures and asked if I was doing anything or just digging because I could! The nerve of the guy, actually stating the obvious /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.

But really, I was making a snow melt retention area to attract ducks. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

John -- Just curious about the ROPS being folded down. Mine was such a pain to unbolt I drilled out the threads and replaced the bolt with a hitch pin and spring so I could raise and lower it quickly and easily. Seen too many ugly things happen with rollovers when the ROPS was down.

Be careful, bud.

Excellent John! Have you added anything off the back end since then? These things get pretty light in the rear with no ballast /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Pete, Uh, yeah, guilty as charged. I didn't up, the ROPES for the photo. Too excited at the time. (That was September) I'm more religious about it now. I did look up the hitch pin action for the ROPS bolt replacement. I was wondering if there was a better way that didn't result in the bolts being drilled. Then I looked up and I saw the "wonder magnets" I ordered to make a Chalkley Cup, there may be a new addition to my tractor soon. I just have a few ideas to convert into actions....

Rob,
Over in the Attachments section, I have been posting on my quest for a rotary cutter. The short story is that I will be ordering a Woods BrushBull 600 Medium Duty cutter. It's a beast at 1100 pounds of gnarl eating aggression! oooh, I think I OD'ed on testosterone there for a moment. I am also investigating boxblades. The Gannon Industrial series has caught my eye and I may be getting one of them too, this spring. But aside from my home cobbled together sprayer, I have no back end tools.

I do have loaded tires and have never felt very light in the back. In digging a pit about 8' deep, I managed to stall the tractor while lifting too much, but even then it felt fully connected to the earth. Must be my massive weight /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif ! Or luck...
