A chipper is on my wish list, and only two are in my price range. The hard thing is trying to compare there chinese chippers, Who would get a chance to see these side by side. But, it seens the Jinma needs up grades to be reliable, while the WC6 on Ebay that Betst sells "claims", Improved Universal Joint Power Feed Roller with Handle, Emergency Foot & Handle Shutoff & Longer Chute, better Saftey Features, Universal Driveline, and Better Bearings.
Anyone able to help me with a decision on which MAY be a better way to go?

I have not seen the WC-6 in person. I have a Jinma and am very happy with it. With either unit, plan on uncrating and assembling it yourself. If you are not handy with tools, forget any Chinese chipper. The fit and finish on ALL Chinese chippers is not the same as JD, Bushhog, etc. The welding is sloppy and uneven, but the price can't be beat. A solid sturdy chipper with easily available replacement belts delivered for well under $2000 in most areas of the country. I think the Jinma's would be supported better in the future if you ever did need parts, help or advice. Comparable American/Canadian made chippers are usually $3500 or more. If you are a homeowner and will use it less than 10 hours per month, then a Chinese chipper is more than fine. Most of the parts on it can be found at any NAPA, Northern Tool or hardware store. Blades might be the only part you would ever need a couple years from now.

Search TBN and you will find hundreds of posts and pictures about chippers with the majority being Jinma's.

Before you buy, contact Tommy at Affordable sales in Texas for a quote. I heard about him here on TBN and bought my chipper from him by phone. Excellent service, advice and delivered on time. He has different color combos. Mine is green/yellow to match my tractor.

Thanks for the plug Gordan,we have been selling the Jinmas for years with little or no problems,we also stock all the replacement parts.I have just recieved my first chipper from a different factory, that has the same size flywheel as the Jinma, looks similier but they have done some extra items for us.It has u-joints on the feed driveshaft, extended feed chute, foot petal to work the feed roller,I think that they have done a great job for us and I will be switching over to this factory soon,Jinma has not wanted to make any updates or changes for us and there driveshaft has been there biggest problem, this new factory has also said that they would make me a 4" PTO chipper for the sub compact guys,we get calls every week wanting a smaller chipper in the 500lb range, hopefully I will have it soon so if anybody has a interest in the smaller chipper please let me know.

Thanks Tommy

I also have had very good service out of the orginial Jinma wood chippers that I have sold/sell.

I have seen/found that the knuckles will break when the chipper is feed a limb larger than six inches in diameter. Like a 4 inch limb with braches. By the time it folds up it is larger the 6 inches. The knuckles are dry from the factory .... they need to be lubed or will wear out quickly.

Some of the replacement parts that I have sold for the WC6 are the same as the originial Jinma 6 inch..... not all.

I to will be bringing in some of the chippers that Tommy mentioned on the East Coast.

Replacement parts and tech support should be considered.

The next obvious question, "Will the new shaft fit the Jinma?"

We think it will?

It looks like it but, we are going to make sure.

We should be able to confirm that this week.

I can do a lot of tinkering for the cost difference between the two machines.:D
If I planned on chipping every day for a couple of hours I would get a Wallenstein, but for most people here the chipper is for spring cleanup and will only see at most 10 or 15 hr a month.

Tommy, are you still going to stock replacement parts for the Jinma Chippers?
I'm one of your Jinma Chipper customers and am counting on you being there.

Are Jinma chippers alway Yellow and ready. I'm looking at one on Ebay and it's yellow and black. Again I'm guessing the parts are interchangeable whether it's a Jimma or not.

Sorry fat fingers this morning.

The Jinma chipper that I see are usually Yellow covers and rest of the unit is bright red.

I'm looking at one on ebay that claims to be Jinma but it's Yellow covers and the unit is black.

Again I'm guessing they all come out of the same factory over in China.

I understand the fat finger thing.

The pictures on my web site show the orginial Jinma 6 inch chipper.

So far the only colors that I have been able to get from Jinma are Red & Yellow and Green & Yellow. But that does not mean they do not offer a different color to someone else.

Jinma does not make a 8 inch chipper.

All China chippers do not come out of the same Jinma factory but other China chipper mfd purchase some of the same parts from the venders/suppliers that Jinma does. That's why some of the parts will interchange.

Not all parts are interchangable, we will still stock all the replacement parts for the Jinmas too, since we are a very large parts supplier for Jinma tractors and woodchippers.I 'm checking to see if the U-joint driveshaft will fit on the Jinmas, I think it will and will keep you guys posted. There are several factorys making the woodchippers, some do use the same parts suppliers some don't. I will post some pics of our new chipper soon, the original Jinma is great I just could not get them to make and changes or upgrades on the chippers.I have sold hundreds of these units and know what I would like to see changed, this new factory is eager to make changes to make the chipper better, safer, user friendly.I like that and want to work with them.

This sounds a lot like the KPX/Liberty unit I have. It is red with a black bottom section and some yellow guards. It does have a longer chute than the pictures of the Jinma's I've seen. It has a foot pedal and a handle to open the roller. After the nightmare I went thru with KPX/Liberty, I'd definitly recommend you deal with a reputable dealer here on TBN.

FWIW, the bottom section seems a lot taller than needed. Too tall for my 790. I actually took mine off and attached a dolly. The unit does need support accross the front of the frame, which my dolly does.
