Does any know what if any are the interchanges on the universal joints on a JD side delivery rake? Our old rake is in need of new universals and I don't want to pay the HIGH John Deer parts price.

The side delivery rake we have is our favorite. I don't think it's going to last much longer without a re-build.

What is the model number (s/n too if there is one, but I don't think so)?

Do you know how much are the JD parts that you need? Do you have any part numbers for the parts that you need?

Need this info to locate any cross-reference parts.

It's a John Deere Model 894-A. Serial Number is: 48111. I would presume since it's old enough to vote, it was built in 1948, 2 years before I was born.
I need the 2 universals that drive the input shaft that actuates the rake itself. The 8 universals that attach the rake arms to the rotator discs are okay, but need replacing also.

We have a new rake, but this one is the favorite. You can pull this rake with a quad very easily.

Perhaps I don't understand... (very likely) Do you just need the Ujoint itself or the yokes as well? Does it resemble a car ujoint? The reason I ask is when I worked at a parts store, we often sold ujoints for ATV's disguised as "truck pto" ujoints. ATV shop ujoints were $40, truck pto ujoints were
$8-$10.

Don't buy u- joints from JD, measure the caps and crosses and go to your auto parts house. If they don't list the size call an industrial supply house. The point Scott was trying to make above is that u- joints are u- joints, it doesn't matter who makes or markets them. Be sure and measure all four caps, I'm sure your's are all the same size but Ford was famous for two different size caps.

I got the rake teeth from Valu-Bilt Tractor supply via UPS for $1.49 each versus the J.D. price of $4.40. I am in the process of dismantling the rake. The joints are most certainly automotive type and I have an SKF master catalog so I will cross them. There is an SKF stocking distribution center nearby and I buy specality bearings for my machine shop from time-to-time. I'm going to bet that the SKF price will be about 1/3 of Deere.
