Did you check the bearing clearance before and after with plasti-gage?

by ) pressure, did you mean 0?

By "Low RPM"...how low is that? Diesels aren't fond of low RPM (except for shipboard diesels...but they'll built for it). Low RPM can result in the bearings pounding.
How are you measuring the oil pressure? And, is it within range at operating RPM and temperature?

I guess the first question should have been "Is this a diesel? Gasoline? LP?"
