What kinda numbers can a guy expect to get on JD/Frontier Implements? Pay straight MSRP or is there some haggling that can be done? Any rule of thumb discounts?

With the knowledge I gained from this site I can sleep good at night knowing I got my 3520 Cab at a great price.... Now I just need to "accessorize" it!

I need some weight out back before I do some serious work with it....I was thinking instead of a weight box which is essentially useless, getting a nice Box Blade or so. I got pricing on a Frontier, Woods, Bush Hog and Worksaver.... Prices vary from 700 (Worksaver) to 1200 (Bush Hog)..... The JD Dealer has been great and I wouldnt mind buying the Box from him...and its right there on the lot...But the price I was quoted on the box scraper they had there I believe was straight MSRP. After spending big bucks on a new tractor/FEL/Etc... I was expecting a few bucks worth of "discount"....

Pricing depends on dealer and inventory. If you want the last item he has on the lot and it is prime selling season, expect close to MRSP. If he has to order what you want, you can probably expect MSRP due to shipping costs. Lots of shipping now also have additional surcharges for fuel and steel. Some dealers may have ordered several items at the same time and reduce shipping costs and may have received special pricing for ordering multiple units. Then you may see some discount.
It is usually best to order attachments they same time you buy new tractor. They seem a little more willing to deal. Most are more willing to deal in the off season on in stock inventory.

Thats the thing...They got 2 of every size Box Blade sitting right there....pretty much choose the size I want (Torn between the 66" and 72")...add to that the fact they are moving from one location to one 10 miles down the road in the next few weeks...I woulda thought now's the time...

Another dealer (Red Dealer) I went to today while I was on the road had a Bush Hog MBX72 BB sitting there...said he had to order 2 at a time...customer ordered one and he was stuck with this one...the checkbook was heating up as he was talking....we go inside for a quote...$1200.00 (instant checkbook freezeup, LOL)...Had he said anything between 800-900 it was getting loaded up....

The problem is this is getting into prime CUT and equipment sales time of the year. The dealer knows this as well and also knows any replacement units are going to cost him more that what he has sitting on his lot. I just ordered a midsized ag tractor on March 31st. On Apr 1st the surcharge went up 3%. That 3% is not on shipping but on the price of the tractor and loader which was about $77,000. Same dealer also told me that Rhino just increased surcharge on a brush mower about $300 his cost for a 6-7' mower.

Like everyone else said, there are a number of factors. I wanted to buy a BB2060 from the dealer I bought my 3520 from, but he was right at MSRP for it as well and would not budge. I emailed another dealer just a bit further out, and he was $100 cheaper for the same thing, plus he cut me a great deal on some work lights I wanted, so I went ahead and bought from him. I will likely do business with him again too as I bought an iMatch at the same time and it was dinged up when the guy loading it dropped it off the forklift about 2 feet on to the pavement. Just cosmetic, but the dealer offered to do whatever I wanted to make me happy, including ordering me a brand new one. I declined and just lived with the paint scratches as it is going to get scratched up at my place anyway, but between the dealer's attitude and discounts, I won't go anywhere else now.

Most of the frontier implements are Woods stuff painted green. You can probably buy the Woods version cheaper.
