Has anyone bought a gc1723e since the new 1e name came out? I’m looking at a new old stock 2024 gc1723e and trying to figure out what a good price would be.

My dealers cash list price:
- tractor + loader = $14,900
- pallet forks = $850
- 48in box blade = $1100
- 48in bush hog = $1700
Total = $18,550 before tax, delivery included

This feels a bit high looking at tractor house listings. But there’s no other Massey dealer anywhere close and the price is way cheaper than any other brand I looked at. So possibly I’m just in a higher priced area?

Given that this is a 2 year old tractor and I’m planning to bundle several implements, how much are y’all negotiating and what would you consider a good price? Also open to getting some extras like block heater or filled tires instead of pure cash discount

Doesn't really sound like discount to me ... If your willing to do free shipping you can get the new 1GC.23 for less than that ...

One of our advertisers Bruno's , just click the link in your computer/phone, this is a screenshot from my phone ...

Look at there new tractors, under Massey Ferguson, 2nd page you will see these ... The Backhoe (BH) model is $4500 more than the one with just a loader, which is $14,000 with free shipping ... But, from another poster here who just ordered one, they will have to pay sales tax on it, at least in South Carolina where it's going to live ...

If you go to the end of this long thread you will see his decision ... https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/threads/need-advice-15-20hp.624433/

In my opinion, that's not a terrible price with the 3 attachments included ($3650 total). Has it been sitting mostly outside for 2yrs? Check closely for dry rot, cracks, rust, fade, etc. I'd try to work the price on the tractor/loader down. Shoot for ~$18K out the door.

Yeah I haven’t taken too close of a look at it yet but I do believe it has been outside so those are my concerns as well.

Assuming no issues with those things if I could get $18k out the door I think I’d be happy!

Yeah for $18K it's not a bad deal, but nothing spectacular either... Are the attachments also old stock ... ? While it may look OK, the seat and dash will have some weather "wear and tear" which may show up later sooner than normal ... But that's just my opinion, as I park mine inside a barn! (I also wash and wax mine at times!) 😁

Check on the forks ... Do they have a back guard/rack? How long are they 36" - 42"? How heavy are they? What are they rated at?

While I have a set of very heavy duty (for my tractor size!) 42" forks they have 4" wide forks, and rated at 4,000 Lbs which my little tractor can only lift a quarter of that weight! So ... That means since they weigh 347.4 Lbs, if they were a 100 Lbs lighter, I could pick up another 100 pounds of "stuff" ... 3" wide and a 2500 Lb rating would weigh a lot less ... For me a back rack/guard is critical!

What price would you consider a good deal?

I don’t even wax my truck so I think fergie may get treated a little better than my future tractor will 😂

I think $17K is what I'd offer for the "package deal" ... Maybe go up $400-$500 if I felt we were close on a price if he hesitated ...

At about 675 hard hours ...

Nicely maintained! Question, does your GC 1725 handle the 5' bush hog OK? I am in the market for a rotary cutter (I have a GC 2400 and a BX23S) and was thinking a 4' size would be a good match for my tractors.

We have a Bush Hog 48 inch "Squealer" that we have used on our GC 2300 for years now. It does just fine with it but it is a beast. I personally wouldn't want to go any bigger especially if using it to clear brush with small trees and such. For lighter duties like pasture mowing it might be ok.

It's 8' long and weighs 518.4 Lbs, Bush Hog recommends a minimum of 20 PTO HP, I have 19.6 ... If the tail wheel is off the ground and going more than 2 mph, the steering is "light" ... I add rocks to the bucket which keeps the steering functioning!

I started out with the BH 114 a 4' brush hog that actually only cuts 44" ... It devoured my neglected fields one tiny strip at a time!

IMG_20220709_102223447.jpg

Some of the bigger cedars were up to almost 2", I had to V E R Y S L O W L Y creep over them, and just "let it grind" sometimes backing up and hitting them again!

IMG_20220709_162208044.jpg

Once I got all of it down, or so I thought, I traded it for the 5' ... I then legally was able to gain another .9 acres past my land, but on my side of a fence that was actually the used border, according to state fence law, so I used the 5' to knock that down, I had to go even slower on the bigger stuff ...

IMG_20230826_190538992~2.jpg

It did the job, but primarily I got it just cut the grass & weeds 4-5 times a year ...

If you're gonna be doing a lot of brushy stuff, I'd recommend getting a Massey Ferguson he has other interesting stuff too, and is a member here, but I don't remember his name ...

These tractors have a little cooling fan for the HST that doesn't like sticks! That's what the above link is about ...

The Sentinel protects both that and the hydraulic filter ...

There "Grampa Step" as I called it is very handy, I painted mine red! 😁
