A couple of days ago I had a Kobuta dealer tell me that JD is having problems getting Yanmar engine parts. He said this is due to an argument between Yanmar and JD.

Any truth to this - or is it a lousy method of selling an orange tractor? I was already to write a check for the BX24 - but decided I was unsure of the dealer, so thought I'd check out what he said about JD.

Call your local JD dealers and ask. I am not 100% sure but I think Yanmar is still making 2 JD compacts and from what I can see they are still providing drivetrains for all the compacts.

Since Yanmar furnishes all the engines for the 90, 2000 and 3000 series tractors, I'd say it was the latter.

A little story. Before I purchased my new JD3120 I had a JD790. When I decided to upgrade out of my 790 I had convinced myself that I wanted a bota. The local bota dealer in my area is a very large outfit. They were sleeze ball scum bags. I tell you the salesmen were so full of crap that they did a real disservice to the Kabota name. They were like used car salesmen that you might see on some stupid TV show. They turned me off so badly that I decided to put off my purchase and go see what JD might have these days. Boy, was I glad they turned me off like they did. Now, I know that Kabota makes some fine tractors. It just so happens that the JD appealed to me more. I can't imagine why these salesmen are resorting to such tactics when they have such a good product.

I also have been told that Yanmar and JD are on the outs. This was not by any dealer but by a person who I think would have some knowledge of such things. Who knows but it is the rumor and I stress rumor.

Thanks,
Maka

Obviously there seems to be no end to the Yanmar/deere deal. Yet it could end tomorrow. But if it does, you can expect to still have excellant parts availability. Just log onto JDParts and look up 50 year old tractors.

All brands have competition bashers selling for 'em. Pretty low life forms.
