JD 855 seat options

I'm thinking new seat for the 855. I haven't checked dealer price yet, just a little eBay surfing. Found several
First a high back version, looks comfy

and second this one which the seller claims is far superior to all other repo seats

Any suggestions on repo seats or should check with the dealer

Based on the seller's eBay page, I'll assume the second one is an actual John Deere part. I checked JD Parts for the 855, you can see what my local dealer would charge me. Personally I think the black seat looks better. It's cheaper too! Don't forget shipping if you buy one on eBay.

If you want an OEM type fit and feel buy an OEM seat.

That said I adapted a $25 boat seat from Wally World to mine. Suits my needs and didn't break the bank. It does NOT feel like an OEM tractor seat though.

Mine was in pretty rough shape (JD 755). I was saving pennies for a new one, and ran across one of these at Home Depot:

Super easy install, fits very nicely, looks great. Made from a HD nylon material with pockets across the back to collect misc. junk. Should extend the life of my old OEM (junk) seat by quite a while!

I bought this one for my 955:

perfect fit. High quality seat made by Milsco. I like the yellow as it doesn't get as hot as the black does in the summer sun.

Considering that mine was a torn and ripped, sun dried remnant of the original when I bought the tractor... Yes, it is much more comfortable.

I had a few extra bucks in my paypal account so what the heck. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this one ,same as Mechanos but in black. $125 shipped. My 855 not nice enough for a shinny new yellow seat, black should look a little better.
I'll post up pics when installed

Finding those rear turfs without breaking the bank is a challenge. Mine are also pretty worn and need replacing. But just a bit too rich for my blood.
