 Was using my 790 w/FEL to set stone, you know, the typical New England stacked stone fences you see visitng New Hampshire, loading bucket with single stone at a time to easily set into place, up to 120 lbs. Shut the tractor down, parking brake on, took a short break, came out and started right up. Freely shifts into all gear pattern and nothing not-ta. No signs of grinding as I depress the clutch which was strong (so I thought, but what do I know) before my timely break, all the hydraulics work.. I'm thinking to myself, not a good day for stone fence work........ Told the wife on a positive note, didn't happen in the dead of winter. Any tips for me to further troubleshoot to understand better the issue before I tow it back up to the house...... THANKS

I suggest pulling the top of the transmission off...I think your shifter linkage has come apart. Probably a roll pin worked loose.

Could it be something as simple as the Hi-Low Range shift lever being in neutral?

Boy, that would be embarrassing!
But I hope you're right!
