Oil & Fuel jd 790 will not start

There are times when the solenoid on my JD 4200 does not click and the tractor will turn over but not start. Using a heat gun (propane torch) and pumping the primer lever has worked to get it started.

To where/what do you apply the flame?

Maybe there was s hot-bulb version of that tractor. My friend needs a torch to start his Lanz-Bulldog.

Looks like from your description that there is contaminated fuel, ether from engine oil, wrong fuel loaded, or other crap that got into the pump.

Why not just bleed the injectors to get rid of it ? Is there a water separator? That can be bled, too. Have you checked the filter at the engine as well ? If its the same as mine, I have a filter up front at the fuel pump. Once I dumped an old tank of fuel in. Had LOTS of water in it. The mixture looks like a black or white goo that could be confused with engine oil. If that's the case (contamination) it may be why your electric pump is stalled. Can you direct feed the injector pump with a IV to get it running ? Heck, push it down a hill or with a truck to motor it.
