JD 5045 E Not starting

Lived in Gainesville where my father's family is from.....my uncle was mayor there long ago. Later lived in Orlando, Miami, Naples, born in Miami Beach in WWII........love FLA from Gainesville to Ocala.......

How long ago was he the mayor in Gainesville? I have worked for the local utility since 1987.

Did the new starter fix the problem?

Sorry I'm a little late to the game. I had the same issue around 400 hrs.
The solenoid was the problem. I understand JD has a issue with them.
I replaced my starter with a China built unit off e-bay for around $120 (I think), which worked fine.

After finding a replacement solenoid, I repaired my old starter.

I sold the tractor, but still have the extra starter. If the OP, or anyone else needs one, PM me.

I have a 2012 5065e. My starter went bad out of warranty but my dealer told me there was a 澱ulletin (or something similar, possibly PIP (part improvement program) on my original starter. I took my starter into dealer service department. They gave me new starter, no charge. I installed it myself and worked great. I am just saying if I had not talked with service Mgr at dealership where purchased tractor, never would have known about program giving me new starter. I believe he said the problem wasn稚 widespread enough to have a recall but when customer complains about a part in this category, they make the program known to customer. I am not a mechanic by any means and this was an easy replacement. Good luck
