JD 4320 Computer Replacement for Improved Performance?

My dealer called me today to set up an appointment to replace the computer on my 4320. He said that John Deere approved the replacement. It's not a recall, but rather a product improvement and that it would improve the machine's performance and fuel usage. The tractor is about a year old. I thought it was odd that I haven't received any official JD correspondence relating to this matter. Anyone experience anything similar?

No, but I would be very interested in the result. I've got a 4520, and if they are swapping computers for free, there has to be a good reason...

I called a few dealers today and none of them had heard anything about the replacement, so I decided to call JD instead. It turns out that some 4000 series machines with particular serial numbers have a problem with losing power. I couldn't get any more details, but I found out that the solution was to replace the computers in the effected machines. I guess the fact that only some machines were effected is what made the whole issue kind of mysterious. I still need to find out why I never received notification of this issue directly from JD.

Nice job tracking down the extra details Zinno, did the guy from JD give you a serial number range that they expect to be impacted? I'll bet a whole lotta guys would want to know that, since it would give us a quick way to know if we need to take our machines in...
