JD 430 attachments

I have an '86 430 and have been looking for attachments, with marginal success. For the front, I have a line on an OEM frame extension mount and a recently manufactured one so I'm not worried about that. Though thats where my confidence ends. The dealers around here are helpful to a degree, but its an old tractor and a lot of parts aren't even available anymore.

Since I effectively have the front mount, can I use any attachment that would fit on a 318, 320, 332, 400, 420, 430 (and all the other numbers in the middle that I missed)? If the implement has a "Quick-Tatch" hitch on it can I remove it and still mount the implement on my machine? What about attachments that were on 6,7,855 machines but are listed for use with the 430? Are there addition items that I would need to buy to make them work?

I would like to eventually collect as many attachments as I can including a Johnny Bucket, but I have an immediate interest in a front blade and a snowblower. Which ones should I be looking for? I know the difference between a 1 and 2 stage snowblower and am not opposed to a single stage, but for instance, will a 50 snowblower off of a 400 work for me?

How about a few more pics of the setup you have. Is the PTO stub shown under the front axle and extended from the front of the tranny?

jdparts may be your friend to check on drive shafts and parts of the various attachments you list. Might take some good detective work to dig them out, but with part no's you can possibly cross-reference things and help with your decision. Then with the part no., you can also google search for availability as well.

Kevin this is a late reply, just saw this, but the 54 Blade and 47 snowblower are the ones you're looking for with the 430 tractor. I believe there are some other front implements back in the day from Haban and a couple others, maybe a sweeper broom, and a mower attaching to the front. I have four 430s myself, and am trying to figure out what attachments I can use also for the front pto. Alot of custom work will be required on some attachments also. Let me know what you find out also.-Joe
