JD 425 blade change

Can anyone tell me the size of the bolt that holds the blade on on my JD 425 with 48" mower deck? I can never remember from blade change to blade change; this time I'll write it down in my owner's manual. Thanks for the help. Viejo

Mine has 18mm for the blades.

Hey viejo,
The JD parts website states that the 48" deck on a 425 is a M12 X 25 bolt.
Part #19M7788.

18 mm is the wrench size on the 54" deck under my 425, so would expect buckshot721 has called it right. (if that was the question )

And same bolt size for the 48" and the 54" decks

Does anyone know if a 318 snow/dozer blade fits on a 425.

No, the frame is wider on the 425. You can get a aftermarket adapter but after you buy the adapter and 318 blade you are likely at the same $ as buying a blade for the 425.
