JD 310 loader/backhoe?

Seeing in craigslist an ad from a fella that is offering a john deere 310 backhoe that he says is 70's model. He said it had the hydraulic pump replaced 3 years ago. He has 3 different size buckets for the hoe. He says he just doesn't need it anymore.
He wants 7900.00 for it.
First question, is this a good price?
Next, if it is what should I look for when I go look at it?
Picture looks ok. but you know how that goes.

Any advice?

I am going to use it to pull mesquite trees, dig septic system, swimming pool, some trenching.

I think hes high, I have seen much better buys on newer units.Also those were pretty much dinosaurs and cumbersom, Why not just buy a hoe for yours, along with a 4 in one bucket for the front, you would still spend less.
