JD 3038e grapple

Built a grapple for my 3038e this summer. Again got alot of ideas from members on this forum.I believe one of the members was 3RRL. Unable to find the thread though.
It works great! If I did it again I would have installed toothbar and designed grapple reach to end of teeth though.

Was considering cutting out sides of bucket making tabs and having them pinned or bolted so they could be easily removed or folded out of way so I would be able to grab long trees etc, easier. Then reinstall sides when using it for dirt work. Prob have to reinforce bucket a little. Anybody try this or think about it. too much hassle? Any feedback would be appreciated.

nice build. I might try my luck this week and build myself something like this as i could really use one to clean up after our most recent ice storm that took down a bunch of tree's.

I, too, wish I had a grapple. I have a design in mind with a long reach to use with my bucket forks. My forks are 48" long but I want to build a shorter version to use with a grapple, about 24". I just don't have the time right now. I am in the process of building a storage shed and then roofing over a work slab behind my workshop. Maybe in the fall.
