JD 2320
I am looking for some help. I am in the process of changing my hydraulic fluid and filters on my JD2320. For the rear filter (with the magnet inside) near the PTO shaft, it appears the linkage/shaft for the lower 3-point hitch connection needs to slide out to get to the filter. Unfortunately, I can’t slide the shaft out far enough to remove it, as it hits the rear wheel. I feel like I am doing something wrong as I can’t find anyone else who has addressed this in any videos or right-ups on changing this filter. Please help!

Thanks!

Welcome to TBN
From your image, it appears to me that the shaft will slide out(once the quick-lock pin is removed) to the left far enough to remove the 4 bolts holding the tranny filter. May not be seeing it correctly.
Have you tried it and it doesn't go far enough without removing one wheel?

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the reply.

The shaft is approximately 16” long. I can only pull it out approximately 10” before it hits the wheel. With 6” still in the silver “sleeve” that the shaft goes through, I can’t get the sleeve out to clear the filter cover.

Couple basic questions:
What does the Operator's Manual show for this procedure?
Have non-OEM third party products been installed on the hitch and/or lift arms?

In other words, have the hitch and lift arms been modified from the stock configuration?

Thanks for the suggestion to check the manual (obviously where I should have started). I looked up the online manual and found the correct procedure shown in the pic below. Removing the bushing was the step I was missing.

I am just surprised that all the online DIY and YouTube videos leave this part out.

Thanks for all your help!!

I had to rotate the rear wheel to a more favorable position to create enough clearance to slide the hinge pin far enough, even after removing the bushing. My wheel spacing did not allow much clearance.
