Comparison JD 2305 vs JD 2320

If finish mowing is not included as a reason why you want the tractor, go with the biggest machine you can afford. If there's a remote possibility that you'll be clearing woods, the guys pushing the 3xxx series machines are on target. I have the 2305 and am very happy with it. However, I would dearly LOVE it to have position control for brush hogging and dragging the rear blade. To efficiently box blade your gravel drive you'll need position control...

As stated, if finish mowing isn't a requirement of the machine, then forget about the 23xx tractors.

...or the "deer" is out of the bag??? must have been a pretty big bag!!! :D

I just hope whatever the replacement for the 2305 is they do away with the "uni-brow" headlight and the Kubota looking hood ornament. Don't mean to offend any 2305 owners but I just never liked the "looks" not doubting the performance capabilities however. :)

Elaborate on why dealers "push" stuff that is on the lot? Sure! ;)

Most dealers are paying interest on the on lot units and therefore prefer to sell a model that is in stock rather than order... Wait, this isnt what you were wanting me to elaborate on, is it? ;)

Well well, this thred just took an interesting side shift.

thanks for the input - especially on the issue of 3pt position control.

I really cannot fathom why the dealer would be suggesting the smaller (cheaper) tractor. It really isn't that much of a difference, and they have both of them in stock.

I'll look into the 3000 series too.

Thanks!

I bet most sales people have never even used a tractor before, let alone the model you are looking to purchase.

I looked at both the 2305 and the 2320....me and the wife decided on ordering the 2320 because we thought it would be best to get something a little bigger then we needed...I wanted something to be able to cut brush, grass, spread gravel but still be able to fit in some tight areas of my property ....the 2320 "fits" my needs.....now the only problem I have with the 2320,200cx, and 62D I ordered is.....ITS NOT HERE YET ....it wont be shipped till Sep 20th so im setting around waiting and making tractor noises while setting in my computer chair...the wifes about to shoot me.... ...

The 2320 and 62D is an awesome combination. I also had a 2520 with 62D

Please post pics of your new toy when it arrives.

Now if you are making tractor noises via 'barking spiders' or 'chirping butt lips,' then I can understand why you're wife wants to shoot you. :D

Based on what you are planning on using the tractor for, I would recommend the 2320 over the 2305. I looked at both, as well as the 2520, and the 2320 is a great little tractor for not much more $$'s

do the 2305 tractors still have a problem with breaking off the PTO shaft? to me, that would be another reason to not go with that model.
