JD 2030 Remote Hydraulics Question

Hey everyone, I picked up this 2030 at an auction recently and I have a question about the rear remotes. Looking at what is on the tractor and comparing with the few pictures I can find online, there are controls for these remotes, correct? If you look at the pictures, the lines run straight to some ports on under the tractor with no valves in between.

Questions:
1. Am I correct in assuming they are more or less useless in this configuration?
2. The JD selection valve is ridiculously expensive, could I simply by a universal hydraulic valve to put inline and be good to go?

It need to be a closed center valve. Some valves have a plug that is change out to convert from open center to close center. Other are one or the other.

I agree with what USMC43 stated. One can attach a hyd spool valve with breakaway couplers attached in lieu of the high $$$ JD original type scv with breakaway couplers. As stated any added hyd control valve needs to be configured for closed-center hyd system. If I'm viewing your photo's correctly smaller attached to present RH breakaway coupler has pressure oil & LH breakaway coupler has return oil
