Tractor
TS1610
I was running my TS1610 for about an hour yesterday. I removed the key after I started the tractor. After cutting for about some one flagged me down and I shut off the tractor so we could speak from about 200 feet away.

I could not start the tractor. The battery is dead. Does the tractor charge from the alternator without the key in the ignition, or do I need to look at other issues like an old battery.

The switch disconnects the electrical system but there should have been enough juice in the battery to restart.

Thanks. I charged the battery and cleaned the battery terminals and the tractor started.

I think the dirty battery terminals where a large part of the problem.

These tractors are funny that way. I have had several just not start. I cleaned the terminals and they were full charge. They never gave any sign of getting weak. They just wouldn't start . The terminals get a glaze that I have never seen on a car or truck battery.
