Every other year or so they send out a questionnaire asking how we felt about cutting Saturday delivery. We tell them "Fine, don't really need mail delivered 6 days a week". We still have mail delivered 6 days a week. Go figure.

I want mail delivery 6 days a week. Mainly because I want out going mail picked up 6 days a week.

^^ I sometimes don't get mail for 4 or 5 days at a time, so they could go to Tuesdays and Fridays and I wouldn't miss much.

Same here. We pay 3 bills by mail, all on the same day. At least 3 days out of six we have no mail. Most of my Rx prescriptions come by mail but never in a big rush for them. I never wait until the last minute to reorder.

So you are saying you are bribing them with graft?

Call it what you'd like. I reward service folks with a few bucks to show that I appreciate their good service just like I tip a food server. If we tip well and receive great service each time we visit the restaurant then so be it, no difference. Do we need to tip servers more than 15-18%? Nope but we know they work hard and believe they deserve 20%+ if we get great service.

Well FEDEX is pissing me off. My BBQ was supposed to deliver Monday... then they revised it to Tuesday. It shipped from Arkansas last Tuesday and made the interstate journey in four days. Today I got one of the three boxes that were all about 30mi from my home since Saturday. Now apparently the missing two boxes are in Portland. WTH?

Worse yet my steaks sitting in the refrigerator aren't getting fresher. :smiley_aafz: :mur:

This is a little O/T...but if you like your letter carrier there is one small gesture that will please them...when you have outgoing mail rather than laying the envelopes flat in the box...lean them together up against the side of the box close to the front...it makes them much easier to grab...
...It's just a little thing but to a mail carrier it's something and they will appreciate it...

Curtailing on a Wednesday or Thursday would be better. I have a PO Box as they won't come down my road. It used to be a pain as I could only get my mail on Saturdays... and had to cool my heels in town to do so, as they opened later. Now I have 24 hr access, but am waiting for that to change as a "cost cutting measure."

Been doing that for many years. My wife was a rural carrier for awhile years back.

Really... why?

Because we send and receive mail almost every day from home. I want to get my checks that come in the mail at the house. I get less mail at the P.O. than I do at home. I can pretty safely go to the P.O. once a week without missing anything.
