Thanks for the advice. There has been a new developement. I cannot open or run adobe, or anything that requires it to open. I've tried to download it, but it won't install. I tried to delete it, but it wont delete. Not sure what's going on right now, but it's frustrating.

Eddie,
I hate to say it, but I'm stumped on your 'puter problems. I can't establish a pattern, as all the things you list don't seem to have a common core except the system you are running, IE7.

There are computer geek forums out there. I recommend googling one, registering, then posting a combination of all the things that have happened to you. Those guys live, breathe, eat and sleep computers and peripherals. Just like someone on here posting about a tractor problem they are having and someone else diagnosing because they had the same problem, someone may have had your problem or know another nerd that did. :)

Keep us posted. I am really eager to find out what the problem is.

This doesn't solve your computer woes- but it sounds like your getting dangerously close to re-install of Windows. In any case, instead of Adobe Reader you can use Foxit, which is a lightweight PDF reader that doesn't take forever to load like Adobe but does just about everything you want it to do.

I had (have) an internet problem due to a virus program called SpySheriff. One day an icon appeared in my toolbar for SpySheriff and a balloon came up saying it detected a virus on my computer and to click the balloon to install SpySheriff to correct it. I clicked the X to close the program but instead it instantly installed it. SpySheriff makes IE take a very long time to connect to the internet and other problems also. Then it tries to sell you a fix to cure the problem it caused. I had 2 computer techs work on my computer for 3 days trying different ways to get rid of SpySheriff and the problems it caused with no success. They now recommend re-installing Windows which would be a major pia.

I installed Firefox to use as an alternate browser and it works very well and opens most pages faster than IE did before the crash. I have some very minor issues with Firefox, such as trying to make web pages with background music that it can play, but overall, I like it much more than I did IE and I believe it is more invincible to picking up most viruses, trojans, etc.

I had pretty much the same thing happen to me one time. Would get these weird pop-ups saying my computer had a virus and to download such and such to fix it. I finally found a little program called SmitfraudFix. Ran it one time and that was the end of that.

Thanks for the site. I downloaded it and now I can open those documents that I was trying to do with adobe. Quick, easy and simple.

Thank you,
Eddie
