Hi, I'm new here. I just bought a 504 and have a question about the hydraulics. There is a large square plug on the floor board left of the transmission shifter. I removed it and you can see the transmission gears. Is this also the reservoir for the hydraulics that the loader etc. uses? If it isn't, where is the reservoir? Thanks

Yes, that is it. Approx 1 1/2"plug, and have a 3/4" square hole. It is both the hydraulic, and trans. oil filler, ie: transdraulic fluid. Hytran, or comparable...

The check plug should be on the left side, near the clutch linkage. Guessing a 3/8" or 1/2" plug.

I have a service manual here that covers several models. It shows the trans/hyd capacity at 13 gallons.

It also mentions in my loader manual, to check fluid level with cylinders retracted.
