instant reverse problems

i have had the mf 204 apart and rebuilt the motor and put it back in and now the tractor moves fine in reverse but lunges when in forward direction any need ideas i can check and the fluid is fine i topped it of with type a trans fluid and the transmission shifted fine before the motor was redone all help and ideas are greatly appreciated thanks

Your MF 204, is it a full size industrial utility tractor with forward and reverse pedals? Is the pedal linkage assemble correctly and not binding on a shaft etc?
