Due to the recent flooding in NH over the past months, the local OHRV park needs many bridges replaced. Since the park is in the army corp of engineers flood control, most of the bridges floated away. There are two remaining that need to be addressed. One is a 120 foot by 6 foot PT bridge that was about 8 feet off the water. We had used galvanized poles for the posts (similar to chain linked fence post or boat dock posts). At this point with the bridge being over 300 feet from its original location, the best option we can think of is to replace the bridge. The we are looking at is getting all the post into the ground.
Is there a jackhammer type tool that can be used to drive the posts into the ground? Something that can be operated by 1 or 2 people. I seem to recall seing something but cant remember what or where it was.

Like these?

The phrase you're looking for is "pneumatic post driver".

Is that Clough? Is the water down enough to get in?

Gabe, thats what I was looking for. Now to find a place that rents them.

pekabu, yeah thats Clough. Water is down to its normal level (was at +55 feet). Park is still closed as the trails have just been cleared and there are still 2 bridges to be fixed.
