here is what I did:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/customization/208653-so-you-think-converting-pin-4.html

if you go to post 34 of this thread you will see the top plate I welded on and the hooks welded on to that. The hooks on the side down lower are mainly for securing loads that would fall out of the bucket, like a big stump or something. The pulling hooks are in line with the loader arms to reduce torque. The hooks were purchased at Race Brothers in Harrison Ar. and were less than $6 each. Welding was done by me, and I ain't no real welder:)

This looks like what I had in mind. Low cost but effective.

Here is another option that minimizes add-on weight.

yep that looks good too, but I needed top chunk of steel for 2 other reasons, One was to tie into the SSQA backplate I was welding on at the time to tie it all together and Two I have ideas of maybe putting a 2 inch reciever in the middle for other uses.

One more option - My BX25 came with a dealer installed grab hook welded on top and in the middle of the bucket. I also wanted hooks towards the ends of the bucket. At about that time I was purchasing a set of BXpanded pallet forks which look like this. The brackets which hold the forks provide for numerous other uses. For less than $20 I made 2 hooks for the ends of the bucket as seen here by welding 2 grab hooks to 2"x2" square pieces of tubing and mounting them with the brackets which can be placed anywhere along the top. These forks have proved to be indispensable so it worked out great; I got forks and 2 new hooks. I have used these movable hooks 2 or 3 times more than the welded one. This hook option appealed to me because there is no welding or other modification of the bucket. Just another idea.

That looks very interesting and fairly easy to fab up and the versatility of being moveable, also I was working on fabricating some forks for moving brush and this would work nicely.

Heck, you could just slide the pin through the hole in the hook and skip the welding and the square tube...

Smiley,

Caution on what I mentioned in my post this sbj. The BX25 FEL frame flexs a lot with the center curl cylinder. Uneven loading out on the corners of the bucket could twist that frame especially on max loads.

That's what I will try when I get my forks from BXpanded.

Got my BXpanded forks yesterday and gave them a good workout today picking up limbs, brush ,etc and they were the cat's meow.

Bought some hooks and used the pins like Dave suggested.

Worked just fine.
