Installing a ROPS ??

I'm in the market for a CUT for my small acreage and for the $$ will probably buy a gray market tractor, most likely a Yanmar. Are there aftermarket ROPS available? If so, are they bolt on or weld on? I've built roll cages for jeeps and 4x4's which I have trusted my life to on a few occasions, but If a ready made option is available I'd rather use it.

I doubt you will find either.. especially weld on ones..

I used to own a Ford 3000 and got and aftermarket ROPS which bolted to the rear axle. It was basically 2 "I" beams with a round tube on top. I havn't found anything available for a small CUT though.

I've heard that Hoye Tractor & Equipment was working on a "canopy support" (can't call it a ROPS because of liability issues) but I've haven't seen an official announcement yet.

Some models that have US models that are the same have had ROPS available in the past. I bought one for a US-- YM220 and put it on a YM1820.

kayssupply, how expensive was that YM220 ROPS? Do you think I could find one readymade for my YM240?

For a ford 3000 sure.. even the 1939 9n has a rops available.. for a grey market.. good luck on matching one up.. i'm sure it will be hit or miss.

I found one at an auction a couple of weeks ago. My friend and I modified it to fit my YMG1800D, but it still needs some adjusting to make it fit perfect. Pictures when its done.

Since your YM240 is a US model you might. They are probably all gone since it is an older model. When I got the one for my YM1820 / YM220 it was around $600. There wasn't many left at that time.
