Once it was down at an angle, the controls all stopped working and there was no hydraulic pressure. The engine was still running.
That's a hydraulic fluid issue. Your hyd inlet is on one side of the tank, and the pump will be starved if you tilt the other way. And you could only be slightly low on fluid for this to happen.

It has happened to me.

I am new to this forum, so if I am posting things incorrectly please let me know. I live in Northeast Florida (AKA Lower Alabama). I just traded for a 2023 Chinese Mini-excavator and have been using it on my property. I have very little experience with excavators. There is something not right with the arm function. When you push or pull the arm (with no load) the motor struggles, just like when you reach the full extension except it, does it throughout the whole function. Also if you let the arm hang you can easily swing it back and forth by hand. I suspected air so I tried to bleed it. Air did come out but it seems to have an endless supply of it. Could air be getting introduced into the system somehow and gathering in the arm cylinder? Thank you.

Is your hyd fluid full? Machine operating on an angle?

The fluid was at the halfway mark on the site glass, and I was on level ground. I discovered something else while I was trying to bleed the air. With one hose disconnected fluid would come out of the hose no matter which direction I pressed the valve. I have absolutely no experience, and I am having trouble finding this information on the Internet.

Well, this IS the internet, and the answers are here.

That's an interesting set of symptoms you have. Lots to digest.

Your hyd system seems to be going on relief only when you operate the valve that controls the dipper stick (arm). That means you have some sort of fluid blockage in the valve, hoses, or fittings. Your cylinder is not binding if you can freely move the dipper with hose disconnected (or connected).

Q: since you have operated the machine with a dipper cylinder hose disconnected and the valve actuated, did the engine show signs of a heavy load (on relief)?

Q: you have a HighTop HT10. Have you opened up the house to see what hyd components you have? You are going to have to do some analysis to see how your system is supposed to work. There are some variations between 1-ton-ish minis. Some have servo controls and solenoid cut-offs.

To answer your first question; With the hose disconnect, I only operated the valve a small amount not fully.

To your second question; I opened the floor and there are only hoses, no electrical wires to activate servos or solonoids.

Some more clarification: The engine mostly boggs when I fully open the valve and when I swing the dipper out. I did switch the two dipper hoses and it still bogged when swing the dipper out. Could there be an internal leak in the valve body?

The valve bodies do have some internal leaks, yes, but you seem to have problems with some resistance to fluid flow. Internals of the valve can be seen where I posted them earlier in this thread. The spool or the body could be defective or installed incorrectly.

Which engine do you have? If gas, you must run it at decent speed (3000 RPM or more).

If you have a way to connect the 2 hoses end-to-end, you can fully isolate the cylinder from the circuit. I think your problem may be in the valve.

Low hyd fluid should be fixed, but all cyls will self-bleed out air just by cycling them.

Check out microtrackhoe.com. This could relieve some of the headaches of trying to import it yourself.

Well had my first track thrown off today.

To fix this I just release the tension by letting some of the oil out?

I am not sure how to get this track back on but I assume I need to release the tension by letting some oil out and then get it back on and then pump some oil or grease into it to increase the tension.

None of the units I have had here had the hydraulic tensioner, if that is what you have. Just spring tensioner, even if the label refers to oil.

I can't really see what you have. Maybe you can clean it really well inside the hole and see what is in there. Also, do the AgroTk folks have anything to say about the tensioner?

The normal way hyd tensioners work is you have to unscrew the fitting to let grease out, then they have a zerk for re-greasing.
