It would be nice to have the option to resize the uploaded image view without having to go to the advanced screen. I have noticed I can do that from the quick reply window in other forums so it must be a setting.

I start in the advanced screen by double clicking any of the three "Reply" icons.

Then you can select from 3 larger than thumbnail sizes by double clicking the picture after it uploads.

"Large" only works on pictures less than around 650 pixels wide. It used to be 555 pixels wide, but it seems something changed and it is wider now.

If you use "Large" on a picture that is too wide, the right side will be cut off at whatever the current limit is.

I have three software programs that I can "massage" pictures with. Photopad is quick & easy. Movavi Photo Editor is more complex. I do all my resizing, cropping, editing before uploading to TBN. I also have an edition of Adobe but that's extremely technical and I only use it occasionally.

I edit, crop, color adjust all pictures before uploading anywhere using IrfanView. It's free and it works well for more things, but misses on some.

The problem for me is after uploading most posters leave it "Thumbnail" size, so it has to be clicked to see if I want to look at it.

If it is resized to "Medium" after posted, it can be seen. Then you can click it if you want more detail in a larger picture.

I use the method X prescribes. He actually taught me that method. Most times I use full size. I'll start experimenting with large or medium so I don't take up so much space.

Testing to see the maximum pixel width displayed in "large".

This is 750 pixels wide, 879 pixels high:

Edit: That works in this forum.

Resized to 850x994:

Trying 1280x960

Edit" I guess this forum doesn't have the old width limit on pictures posted "Large".

Richard, your resized pictures are fine. It is the 4,000 or 5,000 wide pictures that use too much bandwith.

At least some of you have missed the point. I resize all my photos to 1400 px on the long side at 96% quality using Irfanview. This keeps the file size below a MB. Usually 300 to 600 kb.

The request is to be able to use the "Quick Reply" window at the bottom of the thread to enter a photo, click on the A.jpg at top left, then be able to double click the image and select full size. I believe that option makes it fit the viewers screen no matter their resolution. Some forums have it defaulted so the image already shows and you don't even have to click on the A.jpg at top left.

Here you have to go to the advanced screen to do any of that and it is time wasted. It also makes you have to use the back button several times to get back to where you were in the thread listings.
