Ignored user error

It appears if a person you have in your ignore list is leading in a thread the app won't allow access to that thread. It is happening with my iPad. If the ignored person is inside the thread it does what it suppose to do. Ignore. Anyone else experience this?

In response to your question, I have never used the "Ignore" option. Even though sometimes we members have somewhat heated discussions, I have never chosen to utilize this option. The way that I see it, is that Tomorrow is another day. We are all Human and everyone of us have different opinions at various times. After all, this is a Forum. Perhaps other members will chime in and offer you responses related to your inquiry. Best wishes.

My posting was simply a report of a feature that doesn't seem to work properly thru the iPad app. I respect you opinion.

on my mobile pad, if a person on my ignore list is the thread starter.. and I mouse over the thread, I don't get an auto bubble pop up showing ghe first few sentences of the thread.. but I can still load the thread, and just not be forced to see the post by the ignored person.. thankfully

I haven't checked my smartphone to see if it does the same. By your report it should do like yours. The iPad is a different animal. -robert

My intention was meant to indicate that I, personally, had never used this option, and my reasoning behind my decision not to. I have used it in other forums. Some people can be a real D%ck. I use it on Facebook to thin out the wall post. It's a necessary tool if needed. I was testing it out and noticed there was a problem on my iPad. It may be an error by design. If no one had reported it, just thought I'd drop my two cents into the jar.

The way I see it guys is if there is a problem or difference of opinion why not chat it out using the PM option. I realize there are differences in personalities that will likely prevent some people from ever becoming friendly, doesn't mean they don't have something to offer. JMHO, as has been said, every day is a new day and everyone is entitled to an off day now and again.

Mike we"re talking about a software bug I was reporting or speaking of. Someone else may use it for a platform to grandstand. my motive to report the problem. It occurs on an ipad2.

it really doesn't matter Mike. there is alot about this app for the forum that I still haven't discovered yet. the feature works, but just a bit quirky and prevents reading a thread in certain incidents. it's really handy though. much easier to use than the desktop or laptop.

oit must use some sort of quick preview window.. and it is disabled if the OP is in the ignore list..

Well Creekbend, you can't. i have been acused here publicly by someone I care not to converse with anymore for personal reasons. they try to bait you into the open, with more threats and snide remarks. The ignore feature is either in your head or a binary switch. if one can't resist, they allways have the other option. I guess that's why it"s been an option on forums for many years. with technology advancing so rapidly, software vendors are hard pressed to keep pace to make options work on the ever shrinking internet device. the ignore feature is used for a special breed here or elsewhere. i personally don't wonder nor care if I'm on someones sh%t list. it's a built in time out corner for the childish. no earplugs required. - robert
